2024 Sold Out

Hello Everyone and welcome to the timelines & Deadlines Page for the exciting lineup of SST trips and tours planned for 2025.  It's early March 2024 and with the 2024 Ski Tours in the rear view mirror, we are looking forward to planning our travels abroad again.  I will be updating these pages as we go along.  At the moment, the trip planned for January 2025 to Austria and Italy is in the Planning Phase.

At a glance below, you'll be able to get an idea of the timelines for all of the trips and see what can fit with your plans; especially if your goal is to attend one or more of them!  With the exception of the Japan & Europe Tours, the trips may fit in between the regular Bye Weeks for the SST Program so you can do a ski tour and not miss a session.  However, the overseas trips are all 2 weeks long and you will miss one week in order to attend; sacrifices, sacrifices.

So, how about taking the time to contemplate a ski trip abroad with us next season?  Take a few minutes and travel through the timeline before the actual trip unfolds so you plan your way on to one of them with more ease and clarity.

This purpose of this page is to not only give you a template of what and when things need to be done, but, to prime you with appropriate and measurable steps to achieve them.

Timelines & Deadlines

Putting together trips like this require lots of coordination between multiple parties who work independently, often on different continents, months in advance of the event becoming a reality.  Over the seasons, SST Ski Tours has developed a rhythm and cadence that works quite well for all concerned and I am truly amazed and grateful for all the rewards and memories we have been able to garner for ourselves and for you, our faithful ski clientele.

The actual trip planning starts almost a year in advance when we decide on the schedule and then choose the destinations to fill in the timeline for each trip.  For 2025 and for the foreseeable future, we are staying optimistic that the pandemic will remain behind us and that we can safely start traveling again.

From April to mid June, 2024  decisions will be made.  Here are the choices for 2025 as we see them.  Let us know which one most interests you and we'll add you to the list.

Add yourself to the 2025 SST Ski Tours Update List

My goal is to keep the tour groups between 24 and 30 skiers per trip.

To Add Your Name to the Mailing List:

Click through on this link, then complete and submit the form.

From the information provided, I will set you up in my system according to your preferences; and this will be done in order of when the forms are returned to me.

The Qualified Wait-list

When completing the form, you may find it interesting that you are being asked to say where and when you'd like to travel to; either Europe or Japan without knowing where in either place the tours will eventually go or how much they will cost.

That's because this is the way things have defaulted to over the years.  After our list of Repeat Offenders (people who have been on previous trips) have re-claimed their spots, you will be given the opportunity to claim yours.

By then of course, we not only know where we are going, but how much it will cost and that is when you'll be given the opportunity to sign on. Each tour has a maximum of 24 to 30 skiers per tour and if you don't get a spot, your names automatically go to "The Qualified Wait-list" and you'll be offered a spot if someone has to bow out after registering..

Choose your List

On the form, you'll be asked to choose one of two lists.

The difference between the two is the Prospect List is the default because these are the people who know who they're sharing accommodations with or they're booking as a single and willing to pay for a single room or for the single supplement.

The second option is the Wait-list (Unqualified) where you position yourself to get in line for available spots with someone else willing to share.  Priority goes to couples followed by 2 people sharing (twin share) and then to singles.  The poor old singles are at the end of the pecking order because it's difficult to secure single rooms or even the single supplement at many properties.

The Booking Process

We have been conducting these tours now to Europe and Japan since 2010 and have developed and refined all aspects of each tour with a format that works really well given the complexity of such ventures.

It all begins with how we start the booking process and it's the same for both destinations.

Priority always goes to anyone who has been on previous tours which is just like when people are invited to sign up to the regular SST Program.  Both entities have this in common though there is no other connection between the two products as both are standalones.  People can be part of either one or both of them separately.

Once the folks on previous tours have relinquished their first right of refusal and have forfeited their spot(s), I invite people based on space availability on a first come, first served basis starting with the date you signed on to the Prospect List.  So if you're keen to get on next year's tour, get your form in ASAP.

Accommodations

All hotel accommodation is in 4 or 4+ Star hotel properties and based on double occupancy that includes half or 3/4 board, breakfast, dinner and/or afternoon soup/salad with the 3/4 board.

The default rooming format is:

  • couples sharing,

  • then twin share, which means two unrelated people sharing, with always a limited number of rooms with 2 beds for 2 people sharing

  • and finally, a limited number of single occupancy rooms, sometimes single supplement and other times just a single room depending on the hotel property.

Included in "The Package"

In Europe, each trip is 2 weeks in duration, usually going to 2 countries and includes:

  • bus transfers starting at the hotel in the entry city to and from the resorts and ending with the transfer back to the hotel in the departure city.

  • ski lift tickets for 6 days of skiing in each resort and

  • skiing with local guides for 5 of the 6 days.

As you can surmise, that covers all of the bases for an awesome experience.

Not Included

Not included in the packages is airfare or transfers from the airport of entry to the hotel or from the hotel back to the airport for departures due to people arriving and departing at different times and places.  Meals before and after the resorts unless otherwise indicated, lunches on the mountain while skiing and alcohol.

Deadlines

So, there you go.

Please submit the 2025 SST Ski Tour Form at your convenience but as soon as possible and I must receive it no later than April 15, 2025.

Thanks and all the best to you in skiing
