PMTS CAMPS 2017-18

Every year, Harald [Harb] offers ski camps.  This is an opportunity to ski with the man himself and his partner Diana Rogers.  As you can imagine, the camps are extremely popular and many of them now are designated for people who have been to previous camps and all of them fill up very early on.  For example, they will be doing camps in New Zealand this summer but they aren't even listed as they've been sold out for some time.

Here is the list of camps for next season.  If you are interested in skiing and learning from a living legend, here is your opportunity.  However, at the time of writing, May 18, all of the camps are sold out with the exception of the second Hintertux Camp where there are still 6 spots left.  Do not delay though as you will be disappointed and don't be surprised to discover that many of them are already full.

We hold an early season PMTS Camp here in Whistler every year and registration is open for this camp.  This camp is conducted by Yours Truly, Wendell Moore and Peter Shandro, both Blue Level Accredited PMTS instructors.  Happy registering.  Here's Diana describing their camps for the season.

We have some changes to our camps this year...

*We are starting our camp season even later this year, after Thanksgiving. We’ve had a couple of seasons in a row with warm weather and very limited terrain prior to Thanksgiving. We are starting later to have a better chance of having more terrain and fewer skiers on the slopes with us.

*We have a combined Short Turn and Mogul session. This camp encompasses all the Mogul enthusiasts who have been coming to our Mogul camps, and adds more introductory groups that will spend more time on short turns and pole plant and then apply those techniques in easier moguls.

*We have three camp sessions that are reserved for people who have already skied with us: Short Turn Session 1; SuperBlue; and the Short & Mogul camp

*We will have a Race Training Group in Hintertux, which will have GS and SL training, as well as ski improvement coaching.

It offers gentle, open slopes for novices, steeper slopes to challenge the intermediate, superb grooming, and very little skier traffic. Many of our skiers tell us that they like to come to camp at Ski Granby Ranch because they can really focus on their skiing, without the distractions of a large and busy mountain.

Short & Moguls (return only) - SOLD OUT

26 Feb - 2 Mar 18

Arapahoe Basin, CO

5 half-days days, Mon-Fri

$1100

This session is reserved for people who have skied with us before

For many skiers, linking turns in moguls with speed control is the hallmark of expert skiing. This camp will combine technique and tactics - not only what to do, but where and when you need to do it in various moguls in order to have a smooth and controlled ride. New in ‘17-’18, we are adding more introductory groups. Skiers who have less experience in moguls will refine their short turns and pole plant, while starting to apply that technique in moguls. More experienced mogul skiers will spend more time during camp in moguls and in larger moguls. You must be comfortable on western black (advanced) groomed slopes to attend, and you must want to spend time during camp skiing in moguls.
