The 2027 Austria/Italy     SST Ski Tour

I am pleased to announce the 2027 SST Ski Tour to Austria and Italy.

This is our second visit to both of these ski theatres.  A ski theatre has become my preferred way of describing these incredible ski domains as the areas are so vast and the infrastructure so advanced compared to what we are accustomed to in North America, that it requires its own moniker.  The difference is stark and needs to be brought into focus so that one is properly prepared to be amazed or if one is somewhat jaded, simply impressed by what has been manifested around the ski culture there over the last 20 years.

Here is a link to a recent YouTube video on the subject.

The skiing portion of our tour will begin in Austria.  Today, Austria is arguably the worldwide fatherland of skiing and skiing is designated as the country's national sport.  The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is one of many such theatres in Austria but arguably the one with the newest most innovative lifts, snow making, grooming and the

collection of "ski huts" serving local delicacies is second to none we've ever experienced in all our travels.

This year, I have secured hotel space in the world famous resort of Saalbach.  For the second week, we will move to Val Gardena, Italy located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomite mountains.

At the moment, "Le SST Package" looks like it may come in at about the same price as the Austria/Italy Tours from two seasons ago which if it happens will be an unbelievable deal; fingers crossed.

This is how the itinerary will go.

Jan 13 or 14 you will fly into Munich Germany depending on whether you opt to arrive a day early to sight-see and acclimate or not.  The SST Ski Tour Packages are always sold exclusive of airfares and any transfers from the arrival and to the departure airports from the hotels where the tours begin and end.

The travel time from Munich to Saalbach is about 3 hours on our charter bus; the village of Saalbach is car-free and our hotel property is located meters from the nearest lift.

Here's a link  for some background on the coolest resort in the Alps.

The 4**** Hotel ValSaa*, we will be our home for the next seven nights and six days of skiing.  This region is also the home to the world famous Ski Circus Saalbach/Hinterglemm.  The massive Region offers 270+ km of ski runs serviced by a network of cableways and chair lifts virtually guaranteeing uncrowded intermediate and advanced slopes and short lift lines; with the amazing Austrian Alps' mountain scenery thrown in at no extra charge.

On Jan 23, we will transfer by charter bus to Val Gardena, to the resort refuted to have some of the Italy's finest skiing and the home of the "Legendary 8" slopes.  The region is actually one of twelve separate ski resorts that together form the Dolomiti Superski area of over 1,200 km of meticulously prepared and maintained ski slopes serviced by more than 450 lifts.  Val Gardena itself gives the skier access to more than 500 km of runs and certainly enough to keep us entertained for the week.  Italy has been our most requested destination over the years and this years tour promises to deliver on the best that this spectacular part of the country has to offer.

A hallmark of the SST Ski Tours is incorporating expert guides from the local ski schools who know the region intimately and over the years, we have been fortunate to get to know many of them who have become friends and have worked with us on multiple occasions to deliver an exceptional experience.

Here's a link for you to get a backgrounder on Val Gardena.

We will check in to the 4****Hotel Continental a ski in/out destination located right on the Sella Ronda and in the centre of Val Gardena skiing arena featuring a spectacular spa and renounced Italian cuisine.  As a bonus, it is located adjacent to the Dantercepies lift to the slopes and the ski out is about 10 meters from the door.

Our SST Package modus operandi includes Breakfast & Dinners at both of the resort hotels.  Lift passes for both resorts and skiing with expertly chosen local guides as part of the package of course and hotel nights in Munich at the beginning and end of the tour plus all ground transportation resort to resort and to and from Munich round out the inclusions.

Alas, all great things must end and on Saturday, January 30 we will transfer back to Munich for our final evening in Europe and fly home on January 31.

Stay tuned for further details as they break.  The plan is to have both the 2027 Booking Form and the link to make the Nominal Initial Deposits live by  May 24 if all the stars align.
